Bleh

So today I am sick, and have been out of work for the past two days. I didn't have time to finish the book I was going to talk about for J-Fic Thursday, so instead I'm going to just briefly share what books made me feel better when I was a kid.
I read heavily at an early age, but when I was sick with stomach flu (which lovies is what I feel like right now, except it's brought on via migraine...) was anything from the Sweet Valley High series. Something about the strong descriptions of Jessica's purple mohair sweater and Elizabeth's strand of pearls made me drop into a sort of coma where I forgot all pain or ill. Sweet Valley Twins, not so much. I found the twins as 'tweens' to be volatile and annoying and had no interest in reading things about someone my own age. Only two or three years later, I grew so in love with the copy of Jane Eyre (Charlotte Bronte) that my sister had to read for sophomore English that I quickly forgot about those Jean Nate-smelling twins and lost myself in the world of stiff dresses and mad secret wives. And I still read it to this day when I'm ill (and well, for that matter)...

Is that where my copy of Jane Eyre went? Agh!!
Just kidding. Hope you are well. Christine fell on the playground, right in asphalt, face first and her two front teeth are loose. Took her to the dentist and it looks like her teeth will be falling out soon. The dentist said they would have fallen out pretty soon anyways. Christine's lip was all bloody and swollen and asphalt it literally embedded in her front teeth. Ah, the joys of parenting!
