Monday's Child cannot decide....

What to theme Mondays' postings. I read two little picture books today, and am contemplating tomorrow's picture book review....I processed a whole new boatload of new books for the children's room today and will be able to wax elegant on those new editions soon. For today, I'm afraid I'll have to post some pictures as it is the first day back to work after a three day holiday weekend, and this library lady is adding another 'l' word...'lazy'...

On Good Friday we also went to Ft. Dickerson, a Union Civil War Fort located about 2 miles from us. It houses three or so cannons and some gorgeous views of the city. For those of you who might not know, Knoxville was highly Union-sympathetic and 3,000+ Knoxvillians joined forces with the Union during the war (officially--some mountain people, calling secession and the like a 'rich-man's war' literally took to the hills to avoid fighting for the Confederacy.) In Cades Cove in our nearby Smoky Mountains, there are gravestones that read, "Killed by a Rebel Soldier" at the Methodist Church...)....Anywho...here is a picture of Xander and I on one of the cannons.

Notice that Xander wasn't wearing a jacket and neither am I. It was 70 degrees that day (two days ago)...
Notice the weather report for today...

Current Condition: Mostly Cloudy
39 °F
Feels Like: 32 °F
Wind: 10 mph
Humidity: 65%
Updated: 18:53 EDT

..."Good evening ... Snow flurries will taper off with clearing skies and very cold temperatures again overnight. ..." (wbir.com)

Humph.

Hey, Chrissy! I love your blog. I miss you guys terribly and can't wait to spend time with you in June. I need to get me some bbq and pancakes! We need to shop for skin products at that fun lotion store in Gatlinburg. Easter here was dreary...30 degrees and 4 inches of snow. I must tell you about the ham.
