Camping down home

Oh to see flames reach
orange and red spill into
India ink sky

Is there anything?
If I turn and face forward
I'll give you the world

Five minutes, now four

I have five minutes
to solidify my path
from here to there

Rusty

And the pull downward
felt like a cool cotton sheet
so she slipped in

Can you tell I'm rust?
My gears stick at every turn
and I'm counting vowels

Have been working often on my new project, and it's fun but I'm definitely not going to post on it every day like I thought. It takes a little while to research, and I enjoy it. I would like a laptop to take out with me in the world, so I'm not tied to this thing or a composition notebook for fiction. You might have noticed I'm working on something a bit more narrative. Keep noticing, more to come. And thanks to all of you who read here.

The candle I bought
this past Friday from Target
smells like rich people

of finding everything
that your heart desires

Sweater, sled, scarf, hat:
Snowsuit, boots, and barn jacket
I think we're ready

If the words won't come
in the form of a haiku
I just won't write them

Trying very hard
Not to sprint to the candy
That hides in the drawer
